Prattware pot lid of Village Wedding c.1857

Period: Victorian

Origin: Staffordshire

Date: c.1857


Prattware pot lid with polychrome transfer print of The Village Wedding after David Teniers (1610-90), inscribed 'THE VILLAGE WEDDING TENIERS PINX', the jug in foreground bearing lozenge registration mark for 1857, by F. & R. Pratt; together with a pot (probably not original to this lid but a reasonable fit).


Size: Diam: 4" (10.1 cm)

Condition: Chips to underside of rim on lid (as shown), pot repaired and discoloured.
