Description:

On discus: facing bust of radiate Helios.

Shoulder decorated with band of impressed ovules interrupted by rectangular panels at each side. Kite-shaped nozzle.

Base marked (in Greek) CPWCIA[N]OY
Sposianos, a recorded maker in Corinth.


Fabric: Pale buff clay.

Manufacture: Mould made.

Condition: Part of discus missing.

Comments:
Corinthian lamps were widely admired in the eastern Mediterranean and occasionally imitated.
