Description:

Tiegellampe (pan lamp). The single opening served as both wick-hole and filling-hole. The applied handle of this example was vertically pierced.


Manufacture: Wheel made.

Size (cm): L. 6.5 (eh), W. 6.5, H. 2.8

Condition: Most of handle missing.

Notes:
Cf. (type) Goethert, 114; Kirsch, 474; Loeschcke, 1038, 1043 (vertically-pierced handle), abb. 12; Menzel, 526-9.

Loeschcke Type XIII.

There is some uncertainty that objects of this type definitely served as lamps (BMC III, p.vii).
