Date: 400 - 500 AD

Description:

Top mould for lamp. Impression for lamp with circular discus within rim and with rosette of eight petals, wide flat shoulder with 'herringbone' pattern, long nozzle and pointed handle to shoulder. Two extant semicircular indentations at rear for keying bottom mould. Flat base.


Fabric: Coarse plaster.

Size (cm): L. 20.5, W. 14.5, H. 4.5

Condition: Front portion (including front of nozzle impression and two front indentations) is a modern reconstruction.
