Roman lamp with running lion

Period: Late Roman

Origin: North Africa

Date: Late 4th century AD


Early example of a North African Red Slipware lamp showing a running lion on the discus. Scrolled border on shoulder. Pierced handle.

Size: Length 11.2 cm (4?")

Condition: Repaired cracks to nozzle and body, tiny hole to left underside.
