Base marked LVT Fabric: Buff clay with mottled dark red slip. Manufacture: Mould made. Size (cm): L. 10.2, W. 8.3, H. 3.2 Condition: Lateral break repaired. Notes: Cf. Ashmolean, AN1950.69; BMC III, Q727 ter; Rosenthal & Sivan, 33-5; Hayes, 212; Menzel, 67; (mark) BMC I, Q731-2; Bémont & Lahanier, p.234 et seq. The VT ligature in the mark was a recognised convention (e.g. coins of Quintus Lutatius Cerco). Dressel Type 3. Comments: Early proto-volute type.
